This year marks the 20th edition of the annual Taschenlampenkonzert, or Flashlight Concert, an immersive, family-friendly performance by Berlin-based band Rumpelstil. The show takes place at Berlin’s Waldbühne this Saturday before premiering in the United States with a performance at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles as part of Deutschlandjahr.
Berlin’s favorite storytelling show, The Bear, opened its fourth season of true, personal stories in German and English with their open stage event “Cherished: stories of gratitude.” Eight randomly chosen Berliners took the stage with their own seven minute stories about the people, places, and things they didn’t appreciate until they were gone. Without notes, without reading – Storytellers explore the evening’s topic, sometimes in the most unusual ways.
