The car manufacturer Daimler announced its net profit for last year was 2.7 billion euros, 64 percent less than in 2018.
In addition to fallout from the diesel scandal, Daimler, which makes Mercedes-Benz cars and vans, is burdened by structural changes in the automobile industry as the company invests in developing electric vehicles and becoming CO2 neutral.
Still, Daimler sold more than 3.34 million vehicles last year, roughly the same number as in 2018.
Jürgen Klinsmann has stepped down as head coach of Hertha BSC, less than 11 weeks after being named to the position.
In his announcement posted to Facebook on Tuesday, Klinsmann talked about a lack of trust, especially as the team faces relegation.
Assistant coach Alexander Nouri will take over Hertha’s training for the time-being.
Germany’s largest automobile association (ADAC) said in 2019, there was a 4.3% decrease in calls for roadside assistance in comparison to the year prior.
The association said the main reason for the decline was mild winter temperatures at the start and end of 2019.
Across Germany, motorists were provided with assistance more than 3.7 million times; about 300,000 of those instances occurred in Berlin and Brandenburg.
Nationwide the most common cause for a breakdown was issues with the car battery.
