Nai Palm’s music has been championed by R&B icons like the late Prince and Questlove. The Australian native has been nominated for two Grammys alongside her band Hiatus Kaiyote and in 2017, she released the solo album, “Needle Paw.”
We caught up with her on the phone about her creative upbringing, her battle with breast cancer, why she chose to bookend her album with an Aboriginal song line, and why fruit bats are “the puppies of the sky.”
Note to listeners: This is an un-beeped version of the interview. There is profanity that may be offensive to some.
