For months now, school kids and young students across Germany have skipped school to protest against climate change on Fridays. Last Friday, Berlin protesters welcomed a special guest to the weekly school strikes, Greta Thunberg, the 16-year-old climate activist from Sweden who started the Fridays for Future movement back in August 2018.

After the march from Invalidenpark, Thunberg addressed the demonstrators at the Brandenburg Gate. We spoke with some of the young protesters in Berlin to hear why they’ve joined the movement.
