This week, game developers, investors and fans are gathered at Prenzlauer Berg’s Kulturbrauerei to participate in gamesweekberlin 2019, an event that brings together thousands of gaming professionals and enthusiasts from around the world.

Gamesweekberlin project manager Michael Liebe explains why Berlin in particular draws gamers and industry professionals from around the world and talks about the importance of paying attention to the gaming industry. Just like literature, cinema or television, games are a reflection of the contemporary culture of a society, Liebe says.

Gamesweekberlin runs from April 8-14.
