This holiday season we bring you stories by The Bear, Berlin’s one-of-a-kind storytelling event.  Mike Trupiano’s “Return to the Motherland” is the tale of an adopted son’s search for his birth mother on Christmas Eve.

“I’m in a car, a big, black Buick, a detective is driving me from the suburbs into the city. I consider her my detective. Virginia. Mid-50s chain smoking, gun toting, wisecracking. A real film noir dame. Virginia’s specialty is helping adoptees find their birth parents.”

The Bear’s next storytelling event is on Jan. 18.
