This week in politics, British Prime Minister Theresa May obtained Cabinet backing for her Brexit plan, only to have key members resign the next day in protest. We spoke to Andreas Kluth, Editor-in-Chief of Handelsblatt Global, to find out more about the deal and his thoughts on May’s future: “I don’t think anybody has any idea what sort of Brexit, hard, soft or otherwise it will be,” says Kluth, adding he thinks, “she’s in a very bad spot and her job is not safe.”
In addition, Chancellor Angela Merkel has added her support to French President Emmanuel Macron’s idea for an EU army. “I like the idea and I’m for it, however, I don’t think it’s realistic,” says Kluth.
