Nina Hachigian is the Los Angeles Deputy Mayor for International Affairs. She was in Germany for the annual Berlin Transatlantic Forum, hosted by the Aspen Institute Germany.

We caught up with her to talk about the special relationship between Berlin and Los Angeles, her role in preparing for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic games, and her hopes for U.S.-German relations: “Even if there’s friction in certain policies at the national level, we can still maintain a very robust relationship at the city level,” says Hachigian.
