In Politics: Following the Bavarian election, who are the emerging players on a changing political landscape?

Last Sunday’s election in Bavaria saw some significant shifts in power, as the ruling Christian Social Union (CSU) lost their absolute majority for the first time in 50 years, amid an unprecedented uptake in support for the Green Party.

On Thursday the CSU announced that they’ll start coalition talks with the Freie Wähler, or Free Voters, a party focused more on local issues.

We spoke to Nana Brink, host and journalist for Deutschlandfunk Kultur, about who the main players are in a changing political landscape with national implications.
