‘They were lucky, yes, but one makes one’s own luck’: a win for Germany, but what next?

 

Germany came back to win their recent World Cup match against Sweden. Was it luck? Was it determination?

“Both really,” says sports writer and author Jacob Sweetman.

We preview the next Germany match, examine the previous one and talk about Toni Kroos, the midfielder who scored Germany’s victory goal against Sweden. Sweetman says:

“They were lucky, yes, but one makes one’s own luck.”

Since the team from England has been playing pretty well so far, England fan Sweetman has been singing an uplifting song from the 1982 England squad, featuring some astonishing haircuts:
