Quick sticks not Quidditch: Coach Bob Eakins on building up the JFK School’s lacrosse program in Berlin

Coach Bob Eakins has his sights set on only one field this weekend…and it’s not the one in Russia.

Eakins has led the John F. Kennedy School U16 girls’ lacrosse team to victory at the German National Championships two years in a row. This weekend in Frankfurt, he’s hoping to make it a third. Lacrosse is a sport that, although growing, is still not widely known in Germany. That means the team captains are no strangers to explaining the sport to curious Germans.

“I’ve actually been asked twice if I play Quidditch,” says 15-year-old Maya Morgan.
