With amazing wit and unique flavors, local sweets company Preussisch Süß is showing Berlin’s sweeter side through chocolate bars that profile Berlin’s major neighborhoods. We sit down with author-turned-sweets-creator Tanja Dückers to learn about the capital’s chocolatey history and to find out how she thinks Berlin really tastes.

Using wild combinations including flowers, black sesame, chilies and even beer, Dückers walks us through how she uses her chocolates to showcase the many different flavors of the city. As to why Dückers wanted to make the move to chocolate maker, she notes that she loves her new job, “because it includes a lot of chocolate tasting.”
