From January 19 to 28, over 1600 exhibitors travel from 66 countries to meet in Berlin for International Green Week. It’s one of the world’s largest consumer trade fairs for food, agriculture, and horticulture. One exhibition area, the “Show der Visionäre,” or Show of Visionaries, offers a platform for start-ups to present new products and food trends.
Among them is Benjamin Thies, one of the co-founders of Philosoffee, who aims to introduce Germany to the cold brew coffee trend.
“There’s a lot of good coffee in Berlin – thank God. It’s the forerunner city of German specialty coffee, and the beauty of this product is that it doesn’t interfere with the hot coffee market,” said Thies.
We speak with other “visionary” exhibitors, including David Quitmann of the Bug Foundation, who makes a burger made out of insects, and Phillip Klein of Grizzly Snacks.
